You guys,

Earlier this year I received an email with the subject “one diabeticguy to another.” It was from Dave Maher who saw one of my stickers in Cleveland, OH. Dave runs a podcast called This Is Your Afterlife that is inspired by the monthlong diabetic ketoacidosis coma that he survived (during which he was eulogized on Facebook, which he talked about on This American Life).

Dave is hilarious and thoughtful and I’m so glad that he reached out to me. I joined him on his podcast and we talked about diabetes, for profit health insurance, and art.
