Silver Creek Pathway on DIY Redscale

color photo tinted yellow/orange looking up at mostly bare birch trunks against a cloudy blue sky.

•camera: pentax k1000

•film stock: fujifilm superia 400 (flipped)

•developed and scanned: pink folder film house

These photos were made with DIY redscale film made from Fuji Superia 400 film stock. It is made by unrolling a cassette of the film in a darkroom (or bag), cutting it off of the spool, then flipping the film and taping it back together. This way, light passes through the film base before hitting the emulsion, thereby taking on the color of film bases (in this case, yellow-orange). I absolutely love Fuji Superia 400 exposed in this way. I can’t help it!

I made these photos late last October at Silver Creek Pathway.
